簡介

當完成5年的移民等候期，便可申請移居(ILR)。而移居的其中一個條件便是考獲B1英文考試。B1考試和考IELTS類似，包括聆聽和說話，以小組型式進行簡單對答。

若果你是大學畢業生的話，而該學位的教學語言是英文，便可以嘗試申請證明以豁免考試。
總計來說，申請費用會比考試費用便宜，有效期亦是永久。

最新：英國當局已取消了舊有的Visas and Nationality Services申請(我當年申請的)，取而代之的是Qualification and Language Service，費用加了接近一倍，所以大家還是乖乖地去考試更好。

向大學申請Medium of Instruction Letter

一般來說，我們已經有大學畢業證書和Transcript，所以只差一封Medium of Instruction Letter去證明自己的大學是以英文教學。只要大學肯寫 “English is the medium of instruction and assessment at the University”這句就可。

費用

視乎各院校，大約都在一百元內，有些學校免費。

我的大學合乎資格嗎？

根據https://chansleeds.com/ecctis-visas-and-nationality-services/所指，浸會大學和教育大學都不能成功申請，因為大學不肯寫明 “English is the medium of instruction and assessment at the University”。
而中文大學學生可選擇向department申請。

和B1考試不同的是，此認證結果為終身有效。

若不獲批的話是不會退款

結語

英國政策常變，兩年前我用£147.5申請的Visas and Nationality services，今年已被 Qualification and Language Service取代，費用提升至£252，而B1考試費用才£150，所以用此服務去豁免考試已變得不值得！
